Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. Today I want to tell you a story about one of my friends, a lovely and smart girl who is always ready to help others. Being our grade leader, she is good at both work and study. In many people's opinion, she is excellent and perfect. But one day she told me she was gloomy and insecure. My name is Jie Lidi. Today, my topic is: “Confidence”。 As we all know, failure is the mother of success. But What I want to say is that success is the child of confidence. Without confidence, things can become negative and uncomfortable. Kids for Kerry is a grassroots organization of kids that support John Kerry, want to help their futures, and get active in politics.
When my parents went to see Teresa Heinz Kerry speak, they told me that she was amazing! -- and that they thought John Kerry would make a great President. I decided to find out more about John Kerry. I talk about what I learned by using my ABCs.
“A” is America. John Kerry is a hero to America, and he will help our futures. He is a great and positive role model.
“B” is Better education. John Kerry wants to make class sizes smaller, so that children get the best part out of learning. He wants to help teachers because being a teacher is educating children, and letting them out into the world to do good things.
“C” is Compassion towards children. John Kerry wants to make sure that health care is not a privilege, but it is something that we can all afford.
This summer, I was supposed to go to my favorite camp. But instead, I decided to go to the John Kerry office every day. Kids can really help!

Hello everyone，it is glad to meet you，my name is Nong Yanxing，you can also call me Virita, It’s my English name. I am a Howell School’s girl and I am an outgoing girl too, so I like playing jokes with others.
I am fourteen years old and I have learnt English for six years now I’ve loved English since the first time, I’ve heard it from a tape. The voice from the tape was very wonderful and the language was so nice .That time I thought，how wonderful the language is! And if I can speak English as well as the speaker in the tape，that will be amazing! So I asked my mum：“Can I learn English? I really love it!” “Of course you can，but are you sure about it? Can you insist on it?” She was a bit excited. “Of course I can，mum. I love it very much，I want to learn it. ”I said confidently，“Oh，my good kid，you are very good，I am so excited about you are interested in English. ”She gave me a sweet hug. We laughed together. Then，I’ve started my English learning way.
At the beginning，I loved English because it sounds comfortable ,but I can’t believe that how difficult to learn English grammar. Then I felt tired, and I really want to give it up. As we all know, happiness is something that every person is chasing. I always try my best to find out what is the true meaning of happiness. And I think I got it last week.
It was an ordinary Saturday morning. I felt a little tired because of the preparation for the mid-term exams. It was not long before my mother came in with a large bunch of white roses picked from the seller’s gardon. During the next few minutes, we were both busy putting them into a big cley case. Looking at the flowers, I found the dark sitting room became bright, so did my mood, just like a person gets some fresh air when he feels dizzy. All the feeling of boredom flew away.
Then I remember a poem named “Life could be worse”， which said:” For the weariness and aching muscles at the end of the day, because it means I have been capable of working hard. For my alarm that goes of in the early hours, because it means I am alive.
