After seeing so many movies about the youth, we are starting to wonderabout what do we have in our youth, the fight, the drink or the love? My answeris no. What we see from the movie is not true, the plots are exaggerated andmisunderstood. For students, their youth is the process of fighting. They havestudied so hard to realize their dreams. When they are in primary school, theywant to do well and make their parents be proud of them. When they are in middleschool and high school, they need to take part in the exams so as to enter thebetter future schools. Even they are in college, they still need to study andfight for the ideal job. There is no doubt that most people keep fighting fortheir future and this is the memory of youth.
All the celebrations welcoming the new century were hold in the year20__,because life without a greeting is like the sky without the sun.Greetingsare very important for the whole world,in my opinion.
But I don't know whether greetings are enough for us.Especially when wemeet with failures .I remember quite clearly that when I was a child,if I falldown and was on the brink of crying,my father always told me"Please stand upfrom where you fall down!"
Yes,we must stand up from where we fall down.
That was a special mid night in 1993.Expectations filled our hearts.
We stared at the TV,hoping excitedly as the voice would fly to ourears.
But at last, each Chinese who loves our motherland was distressed to knowthe ,lost to Sydeny by a margin of two votes in the Olympic hostingcompetition.
Eight years have past, but the frustration has not healed with time atall.
Now,at the begining of the new millennium, all of the pride anddisappointment of the 20th century had gone with the wind. The 21stcentury,which is full of hope, longing znd thought has come. Someone said, wewould start from zero on.
Should I really start from zero on?
No!I hold that we should go on with our efferts and ambitions stayed bylast century, and make our life better.
"New Beijing,Great Olympics!" The voice cries this out around China'scaptital,a 3,000 -year-old city these days.
Beijing, along with Paris,Istanbul,Osake and Toronto, has been shortlisted bythe International Olympic Committee as an official candidate city for the 20__Olympic Games.
This is Beijing's second attempt to host the games.
Everyone fully supports Beijing's bid for it.
Maybe,we can paint fences along the main roads of Beijing.
Maybe,we can make much of yhe city cleaned up.
Maybe,we can learn and speak basic English idioms and expressions for dailycommunication.
But,but are they just enough?
Facing the new century, mankind is driven by the revolution of science andtechnoiogy, world economy is undergoing broud and profound changes. But nobodycan deny the fact that compared with developed nations, developing countries areconfronted with more pressure and challenges. In order to become famous in theworld,we must speed up our international economic restructuring to catch up withindustrialized nations.
Supporting Beijing's bid is a systematic project that can supportChina'sdevelopment efforts.
I believe recycled paper, clean fuel, sorted rubbish,water-saving andenery-efficient facilities will become reality in the coming years forChina.
I believe the new century is an era of learning ans teaching, and lifelongeducation has become one of the main trends in the future developmet of Chinesesociety.
I believe that,on July 13,our dream of Beijing's Olympic bid will becometrue.
Because to millions of Chinese, for China to have the gloal respect andsupport that she deserves is not just a dream.
Today, with the development of technology, people can receive the messagefrom all kinds of ways. Some people think that technology isolates thecommunication and makes this society cold. But it is not true. When the publicsee the poor people in trouble, they are willing to donate money through theloving care projects. Love is around.
Though there are a lot of negative information delivered on the Internet, the warm theme is always cared by the public. For example, the news reported ayoung man who saved a boy, after he sent the boy to the hospital, he leftquietly. The public was so eager to find the hero and showed their greatrespect. Loving project is a good way to help people who is in trouble, it islaunched by the poor families and the information is needed to be certificated. Many lives have been saved.
We are happy to see love is around. It is the power to make us live longand help become a strong person. We need to pass the positive information andsee the beauty of the world.
Youth is not only a certain time of your life; also it is the shape of yourmind. It is not only bright eyes, sweet smiles, nice voices, supple bodies, butalso it is the way that you think and act. It is an impetus that thrills you togo further and a spring can wash the dirt away in your deep deep heart.
None of you will merely get older by the lapse of years, but easily getanile by the caducity in your mind. You can never judge a person’s age only byits appearance.
I have to say it’s really unadvisable. Time can wrinkle your skin, loosenyour teeth, but that feature doesn’t mean you are old. The decline in vigor withthe passing of time is the exact meaning of ageing, while not the fading faces.Similarly, youth does not only mean the red lips, rosy cheeks, it is theattitude you keep. So, it is not strange that a person with an age of 80, whilewe can still regard her as a lovely girl.
Youth is invisible, how can you hold it? I have seen a sentence from aChinese article. It says that 2 things can keep your youth, one is love, theother is a beneficial book. Love makes you ignore the passing of time. An80-year-old woman who had been married over 50 years said: I think I am stillyoung, like a girl, I know he, my husband loves me, just like what he did 50years before. You see, that’s the magic power of love. A beneficial book is likea loyal friend who plays an important role in your life. You can talk to himanytime you want, and he will stand beside you for ever, never escape, or leaveyour behind alone. I hope my short speech will make you see the things clearly.Do cherish your youth, make full use of it and try to keep it.
saying goodbye to childhood,we step into another important time in the pace of young, facing new situations, dealing with different problems.....
everyone has his ownunderstanding of young,it is a period of time of beauty and wonders, only after you have
having a view on these great men in the history of hunmanbeing, they all made full use of their youth time ,to do things that are useful to society,to the whole mankind, and as a cosquence ,they are remembered by later
generations, admired by everyone.so do something in the time of young, although you may not get achievements as these greatmen did ,though not for the whole word, just for youeself, for those around!
the young is just like blooming flowers, they are so beautiful when blooming, they make people feel happy, but with time passing by,after they withers ,moet people think they are ugly.and so it is the same with young,we are enthusiastic when we are young, then we may lose our passion when getting older and older.so we must treasure it ,don't let the limitted time paby ,leaving nothing of significance.
ladies and gentlemen , good afternoon! i m very glad to stand here and give you a short speech. today my topic is youth . i hope you will like it , and found the importance in your youth so that more cherish it.
first i want to ask you some questions:
1do you know what is youth?
2how do you master your youth?
Hello, everybody!
in my 18 years of life, there have been many things. university days arethe best part of them. i can never forget the days when i stepped into myuniversity. i was impressed by its garden-like campus, its enthusiastic studentsand especially its learning atmosphere. i at once fell in love with it.
after the arduous military training, i get absolutely absorbed in mystudies. the classes given by the teachers are excellent. they provide us withinformation not only from our textbooks but from many other sources as well.they easily arouse my insatiable desire to take in as much as i can.
frankly speaking, at first i had some difficulty following the teachers.however, through my own efforts and thanks to my teachers’ guidance, i maderemarkable progress. now i’ve benefited a lot from lectures and many otheracademic reports.
learning is a long process; i’ll keep exploring in the treasure house ofknowledge to enrich myself. this summer i got out of the ivory tower and enteredthe real world. a publishing house offered me a part-time job in compilation andrevision.
at the beginning i was belittled by my colleagues. but they were reallysurprised when i translated seven english articles over 5,000 words on only oneday. gradually, they began to look at me with respectful eyes. in their opinioni turned out to be a useful and trustworthy colleague.
i also realize that only those who bring happiness for others can be trulyhappy. so i often take part in activities concerning public welfare. i once wentto a barren mountain village with my classmates. we taught the kids there whocould not afford school. while showing them how broad and how civilized theouter world is, i was deeply touched by their eagerness to learn, their honestyand their purity. i couldn’t control my tears on the day when we left. theprecious experience with the poor kids made me aware of the responsibility onthe shoulders of us, future teachers.
besides study and social practice, there are entertainments as well. i dobody building every day, hoping to keep healthy and energetic. we also write aplay and put it on in our spare time.
campus life is the most splendid time. but different people have differentchoices. the majority of students cherish their beautiful season and cherish thehope that one day they’ll become outstanding. but there are indeed some studentsstill under ignorance. they gather together for eating, drinking or playingcards. they’re busy in searching for a girlfriend or a boyfriend. they forgetcompletely about their mission as college students and the hope of theirmotherland.
finally, i do hope everybody can try their best to become a worthy citizenof the country. i do hope everybody can become the backbone of our nation andmake great contributions to society!
Youth is not a time of life; it is a state of mind; it is not a matter ofrosy cheeks, red lips and supple knees; it is a matter of the will, a quality ofthe imagination, a vigor of the emotions; it is the freshness of the deepsprings of life.
Youth means a tempera-mental predominance of courage over timidity, of theappetite for adventure over the love of ease. This often exists in a man of 60more than a boy of 20. Nobody grows old merely by a number of years. We grow oldby deserting our ideals.
Years may wrinkle the skin, but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul.Worry, fear, self-distrust bows the heart and turns the spring back to dust.
Whether 60 or 16, there is in every human being’s heart the lure of wonder, the unfailing childlike appetite of what’s next and the joy of the game ofliving. In the center of your heart and my heart there is a wireless station: solong as it receives messages of beauty, hope, cheer, courage and power from menand from the Infinite, so long are you young.
When the aerials are down, and your spirit is covered with snows ofcynicism and the ice of pessimism, then you are grown old, even at 20, but aslong as your aerials are up, to catch waves of optimism, there is hope you maydie young at 80.
